VALE OF RHEIDOL

 

This railway, nom 2.0" gauge was established in 1902 to carry passengers, minerals and timber between Aberystwyth and Devils Bridge,a distance of some 12 miles.Control of the line passed to Cambrian Railways in 1913, G.W.R. in 1922 and British Railways in 1948, notably the last line to run under steam with British Railways. Possession passed to the Brecon Mountain Railway in 1989 who have been responsible for restoring the track and rolling stock to the excellent condition as seen today.
